Nourishing the life principle
Yang-hsing Chin., lit. “nourishing the life principle”; collective term for all Taoist exercises and practices aimed at prolonging life and attaining immortality. This includes all practices whose purpose it is to nourish the body (yang-sheng) or the mind (yang-shen).
