THE DEVOTIONAL ACTS

Sharia, or Islamic law, is the body of Islamic legal code. It constitutes a detailed set of rules for conduct, including norms related to worship, criteria for “morality” and life, what is permissible or forbidden, and the rules that distinguish between what is considered good or evil. However, its identification with the religion is nuanced: although it is part of Islam, it is not a dogma or something indisputable, but rather subject to interpretation.

The word Sharia literally means “the path to peace,” guiding all activities during the journey for Muslims, including daily routines, family and religious obligations, and financial transactions. This guidance is derived from the Quran and the Sunnah, which refers to the sayings, practices, and teachings of Muhammad.
