Sarvajñatā Skt., “omniscience”; a term for the knowledge of a buddha (samyak-sambuddha), which is his definitive attribute.
In the Hīnayāna omniscence is taken to be knowledge of everything that is necessary for the attainment of liberation, since every other form of omniscence was rejected by the Buddha him self.
In the Mahāyāna Sarvajñatā is interpreted as the knowledge of all dharmas and their true nature, which is empty (shūnyatā), and is often equated with wisdom (prajñā).
