Ascending to heaven in broad daylight

Fei-sheng Chin., roughly “ascending to Heav­en in broad daylight”; a metaphor descriptive of the ultimate apotheosis of a follower of reli­gious Taoism (tao-chiao) who has succeeded in transforming his nature by the performance of various exercises, and thus become an im­mortal (hsien).
