AMIDISM Generic term under which are comprehended all schools of Chinese and Japanese Buddhism that have made Amitābha the central point of their teaching. Included are the Pure Land school, Jōdo-shin-shū, and Jōdo-shū.
Also Shinran, nembutsu, pure land, Sukhāvatī, tariki, Hui-yüan.
